Tell us something about yourself

How would you present yourself to a new student? Answer the following questions before you present yourself to the rest of the class.

 *If you need help on how to express what you like, ask your instructor.

👥 Now listen carefully while your classmates present themselves. Take notes on their presentation. You will need this information later on in this unit.

🔊 Listening is available online. However, each of you will read the transcript online about Laura's or James’ presentations that they delivered to the rest of their classmates. The homework assignment for both of them was to prepare a presentation about themselves. Your classmate will ask you a set of questions (listed below) in order to collect missing information about Laura or James.

📹 Watch the video. Based on your own opinion, mark everything that applies. You have a list of adjectives provided below. They are all given in antonym pairs (antonym = a word opposite in meaning to another word).

🔊 Listen to dialogue four and fill in the chart with information you hear.  Not all the elements are given for each character.

Based on the information you collected, and on their field of study, write what you think each person likes: - Možda on/ona voli… Talk with one of your classmates and compare your answers. Take turns while sharing your answers. Provide your answers to each other in complete sentences.

How well do we know each other?

👥 Earlier on you heard your classmates presenting about themselves. Now, talk with one of your classmates about some of the classmates you have gotten to know. Even though you already made notes about all of your classmates, you should not read from these notes. Try speaking on your own, working from memory. How well do you know your classmate?

While presenting, the classmate you are working with will check how accurate you are in your presentation since they are able to follow your notes. If you make a mistake, your classmate will correct you by giving the correct information. When you are done, switch roles and choose another classmate to talk about.
