10.3 Zadatak 13. Naši studenti

💻 Prezentacija na satu. This assignment is the presentation you will give during our next class session. Read ALL the instructions carefully before you start working on your presentation. Be sure to take enough time for your research phase (i.e., to go through the 10 units on the website) and collect your information.

| Pre-class assignment

Task

Throughout these ten units, you learned a lot about James and Laura. Prepare a presentation on one of the students (Laura or James)* and tell us what you have learned about them. Here are some example questions you need to think of/research for your presentation:

Odakle su?

Što znamo o njegovoj/njezinoj državi, gradu, studiju i sveučilištu?

Čime se bavi?

Što voli raditi u slobodno vrijeme?

Gdje živi u Hrvatskoj (grad, lokacija, zona) i kakav je smještaj?

Ima li cimera ili cimericu?

Koje lokacije je posjetio/-la u Hrvatskoj?

Što misli o Hrvatskoj?

Do NOT limit yourself only to these questions. Considering how much you have learned throughout the year, your presentation should last at least 10 minutes.

* Note: Talk to your instructor and ask for permission if you would like to pick a different character from the textbook – one of the students from Zagreb or Split. This can be an option as well.

| In-class assignment

While your classmates are presenting, take notes on their presentations. You will need to ask additional questions and / or give suggestions, like getting clarification on certain components, asking for elaboration, or giving suggestions on what else to include and how to improve future presentations (based on what you remember).

| Post-class assignment

In English: As part of your homework assignment, you will need to write a summary of your classmates’ presentations. Here are the questions you will need to answer (add any other information you think is important to mention).

| Moj komentar

Was the presentation engaging and interesting?

Was the presentation within the suggested time frame? Was it too short or maybe too long?

Was the presentation equipped with adequate visual components?

Was the student well prepared for their presentation – How much did they look at their notes? Never? Just an occasional glance? Or did they read straight from their notes?

Did they use English in the presentation and/or during the discussion?

Was there appropriate use of cultural phrases during the presentation to depict our textbook character better?

Did the student successfully elaborate on at least two cultural differences between Croatia and their home country in the presentation?

Did the student provide their own opinion about the textbook character? Was their opinion detailed and elaborate??

Did the student ask some interesting food for thought-type questions at the end of the presentation? Something that will make us think about our textbook character and their future life?
